Custom Cartography for Online & Print
We offer high quality, on-demand, custom cartography, for print and online. If you are looking to communicate a message that has a geographic context you've come to the right place.
There is wealth of cost-free geographic information out there today, but unless you have Geographic Information System (GIS) capability, it's impossible access the vast majority of it. Even for those who have the ability to view and analyze GIS data, turning map data into punchy and passionate communication pieces may not be a skill your organization or company possesses. That's where we can help!
We begin by discussing with our clients why they need a map, and what they want their map to say. Together, we then decide on the style of map and the different data layers (roads, cities, rivers, etc.) that might be included. Once we've agreed to the concept we follow the three steps below to craft a map.

HOW TO MAKE A MAP
1.DATAAll of our maps begin with cost-free digital mapping data. Over the last decade, governments at all levels, have worked towards freer access to data, and our clients are the beneficiaries of this shift. Over our 20+ year history we have gained intimate knowledge of where this data is and how to access it.

2. INTERPRETATIONOnce we acquire the appropriate data for a project, we use our Geographic Information System (GIS) software to put the many datasets together to begin to form a map. We may manipulate the data in this environment, through selection and generalization, then we export it to our design software.
|
3. END PRODUCTFinally, to create an engaging piece of cartographic artwork, we use a number of design softwares, allowing us to create:
- classic two-dimensional maps - modern 3-D (AKA birds-eye view) maps - animations and fly-throughs - anything our collective imaginations can think of! |
OUR PORTFOLIO INCLUDES: poster maps for the home or boardroom, personalized antique maps, maps for brochures or other printed publications, maps for online purposes, maps for fiction and non-fiction books, fantasy maps, outdoor signage, animated maps for presentations, hand-crafted maps, and much more... see one of our map galleries for examples.
